Vacancy for Honorary Treasurer: Become a Trustee for Kingston Mencap

Would you like to make a real difference to the lives of adults and children with learning disabilities? Have you got accountancy experience?

Kingston Mencap, an independent registered charity, affiliated to Royal Mencap, based in Kingston upon Thames, supports adults and children with learning disabilities, and their families.  We want to ensure people with learning disabilities living here in Kingston upon Thames are listened to and treated as equal citizens, and have the same opportunities, choices and control over their lives as everybody else.  To help us grow and move forward at a time of change and development, we are looking for additional Trustees to join our Board of Trustees on a voluntary basis. If you feel as passionate about our mission as we do and you have:

  • Experience of the world of work in fields such as, but not limited to, teaching, HR or business
  • Empathy with or experience of learning disability
  • Energy, enthusiasm and commitment
  • Availability to attend evening meetings once a month

we encourage you to apply for this voluntary role.

Induction and Handover

A comprehensive induction will be provided on appointment as well as a full handover by our existing Treasurer who is stepping down due to increased periods of travel away with her full-time work. There is a part-time Bookkeeper who is part of our Administration team who will support the Honorary Treasurer.
